The universe works in strange and wonderful ways sometimes.

It was two years ago today that my dad passed away. I love and miss him and I do think of him often, but to be honest — today’s date just slipped by me and I didn’t remember that today was the anniversary of his death. I have the date marked in my day-planner, but I hadn’t looked at it in a few days.

How did I find out today was the anniversary?

The universe.

Like I have done many times, I was trying to see where my photos and writings are showing up on the internet — various outlets, websites, etc… So, I Googled my name. The first result that popped up was this photo, which I don’t recall seeing before, but instantly recognized as my dad from his High School days. The photo, with a few others from his life, was posted on some obituary site that listed the date of his death.

I looked at today’s date… and sure enough. Today is the anniversary of my dad’s passing.

I really miss him, his sense of humor, friendliness, how much he loved life and lived it to the fullest, but most of all, I miss his love. I’m getting a little misty and trying not to cry as I write this, so I will just make it quick and say…
