Anniversary of Death
The universe works in strange and wonderful ways sometimes.

The universe works in strange and wonderful ways sometimes.
It was two years ago today that my dad passed away. I love and miss him and I do think of him often, but to be honest — today’s date just slipped by me and I didn’t remember that today was the anniversary of his death. I have the date marked in my day-planner, but I hadn’t looked at it in a few days.
How did I find out today was the anniversary?
The universe.
Like I have done many times, I was trying to see where my photos and writings are showing up on the internet — various outlets, websites, etc… So, I Googled my name. The first result that popped up was this photo, which I don’t recall seeing before, but instantly recognized as my dad from his High School days. The photo, with a few others from his life, was posted on some obituary site that listed the date of his death.
I looked at today’s date… and sure enough. Today is the anniversary of my dad’s passing.
I really miss him, his sense of humor, friendliness, how much he loved life and lived it to the fullest, but most of all, I miss his love. I’m getting a little misty and trying not to cry as I write this, so I will just make it quick and say thank you to the universe (and Google) for reminding me to remember my dad on this day.
I love you Dad.
