NO MORE LIES

Trip to New Orleans

Teasing, touching, and lust

You come home

One-night stands are forgotten

And turned to dust

Lovers came by the day

And some in the night

No care for the words you’ve said

A moment away

You’re in bed

Weeks pass

No blood is shed

I love you

And try to forgive

With a smile you fill my head

Truths are deceived

It’s all a joke

But nothing’s funny

I accept my fears

And give the money

You weep cold tears

Then clip my wings

With the lies you’ve said

An innocent child is dead

Strand after strand

The woven web is broken

Trust is gone

Love collapses

Your spinneret works frantically

Shooting silken fibers into the air

No support is there

From the tangled weight of your lies

Love finally dies
